Subpoena voor een hearing voor de Senaat van Donald Trump Jr

Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee has subpoenaed the President's son, Donald Trump Jr.

Geen idee wat hiervan de reden is. Met Republikeinen in de meerderheid en dan Donald Trump jr uitnodigen voor een subpoena is opmerkelijk.

Sancties op Iran uitgebreid door Trump's Executive Order

Trump ondertekende vandaag een Executive Order , met betrekking tot nieuwe sancties gericht op Iran's staal, aluminium, koper en ijzer sectoren, die buitenlandse valuta's in Iran's geteisterde economie binnen brengen.

Weer een Executive Order. Een Presidentieel Decreet, waar geen toestemming van de volksvertegenwoordiging nodig is.

Trump beslist alleen en doet dit niet in overleg en met toestemming van de volksvertegenwoordiging (Senaat en Huis).

Het zit Trump allemaal niet mee. Een nieuw handelsakkoord met China lijkt nog ver weg en het Mueller rapport blijft hem achtervolgen.

Noord Korea heeft gisteren een niet geïdentificeerd projectie afgevuurd richting Japan. Na 390 km viel het in zee.

De vorige keer dat Noord Korea een projectiel afvuurde reageerde Trump dat hij alle vertrouwen in Kim Jong Un had.

Which, to be honest, isn’t really news. Trump, after all, has just been saying the same false things about trade the last few days that he has been saying the last few years. The only difference is that he’s put so many tariffs in place in the meantime that, according to Deutsche Bank Chief Economist Torsten Slok, the United States will actually be taxing imports at a higher rate than do a lot of emerging market countries if Trump follows through on his threat to increase them on Friday.

The real problem, though, isn’t just that Trump is in thrall to a bad idea that works a lot worse than he thinks. No, it’s that Trump’s advisers might also be in thrall to it, because they think it’ll work a lot better for them, politically speaking, than anything else. That being seen to be fighting a trade war with China is preferable to not doing so, even if it’s economically self-defeating (which it, of course, is).

De rechter heeft gisteren geeist, dat Mueller het unredacted gedeelte van het Mueller rapport, dat over Roger Stone gaat, vrij moet geven aan de rechter.

De rechter wil dus ook datgene zien over Roger Stone wat tot nu toe onleesbaar is gemaakt. Rechter wil deze gegevens uiterlijk 13 Mei ontvangen.

Het huis heeft Trump's accountant om Trump's financiele gegevens gevraagd.
Trump heeft een rechtszaak aangespannen tegen Trump's accountant, Mazars, dat zij zijn gegevens niet mogen vrijgeven.

Trump hoopte de boel te traineren door ellenlange rechtszaken.

De rechter zet er echter vaart achter en schrijft voor Dinsdag een hearing uit om de partijen te horen.

15 Mei hearing Mueller bij het Huis gaat niet door.

De voorlopig geplande hearing 15 Mei gaat niet door. Jerry Nadler verwacht wel om Mueller te horen.

Waarom de hearing is afgezegd is niet duidelijk. Mogelijk dat Department of Justice (AG Barr), waar Mueller nog werkzaam is , geen hearing toestond.

Fel criticus van Putin. Had laatst nog twijfels over het toestel dat in brand gevlogen is. Maakte bezwaar tegen het feit dat iemand uit de luchtvaartindustrie in de onderzoekscommissie zit.

Hij reed op motorfiets op eigen weghelft. Ging plots naar de linkerkant van de weg tussen het tegemoetkomend verkeer. Zoals te zien op videobeeld.
