Chinese Non Ferrous Production in 10 Months Touches 48 Million tonnes
National Bureau of Statistics data showed that China's production of 10 nonferrous metals, including copper, aluminium, lead, zinc and nickel, totaled 4.97 million tonne last month, up 4.6% YoY. In January-October, output of the 10 nonferrous metals amounted to 48.15 million tonne, with a year-over-year increase of 4.6%.
China’s production of primary aluminium fell 1.8% from a year ago and 0.7% from a month ago to 2.88 million tonne in October. This brought output in the first 10 months of 2019 to 29.24 million tonne, up 0.7% from the same period a year earlier
China’s production of copper cathode rose 17.9% from a year ago to a record high of 868,000 tonnes in October. Copper production in the first 10 months of 2019 amounted for 7.83 million tonnes, up 8.1% from the same period last year.
China’s zinc production came in at 548,000 tonnes, barely changed from a month ago and up 8.3% from a year ago. This was the highest level since January 2018. This brought zinc production in January-October to 5.12 million tonnes, with a YoY increase of 9.4%.
