Stel, dat het waar is..... Dan wordt het toch lastig voor het aan gas verslaafde Westerse wereld om Iran te blijven boycotten. In ieder geval een mooi bericht voor de Chinezen, de gas uit Iran blijven kopen..

Iran zegt een van de grootste aardgasvelden van het Midden-Oosten te hebben gevonden.

'Iran overweegt te stoppen met olielevering aan Shell'

Dat meldt het Iraanse persbureau Mehr zondag. Volgens een officiële Iraanse functionaris zou de omvang van het gasveld vergelijkbaar zijn met het zuidelijke Pars-veld in Iran. Dit gasveld geldt als de grootste gasbel ter wereld en ligt deels onder het grondgebied van buurland Qatar.

Onderzoek

De nieuwe gasbel is gevonden in de provincie Khuzestan, op een plek waarvan al bekend was dat er ruwe olie in de grond zit. Binnenkort zullen er boringen, tot een diepte van 5000 meter, worden uitgevoerd om het gasveld verder te onderzoeken, zegt een topman van de Iraanse oliemaatschappij en staatsbedrijf National Iranian Oil Company.

Iran draait de kraan op internet nóg verder dicht. Het land verbiedt haar burgers gebruik te maken van virtuele privénetwerken (VPN). "Om te voorkomen dat families in elkaar storten."

Daarmee kunnen internetgebruikers in het land staatscensuur omzeilen en bij sites als Facebook en Twitter komen. Ook zijn op die manier sites van oppositiegroepen en westerse media bereikbaar.

Blokkade
Hierover berichtten lokale media zondag. "Er wordt een speciale politiecommissie gevormd om illegale VPN's te blokkeren. Om te voorkomen dat families in elkaar storten, is er een blokkade op het internet'', zei veiligheidshoofd Kamal Hadianfar tegen het Iraanse persbureau Mehr. Ongeveer 20 tot 30 procent van de internetgebruikers surft volgens het regime via VPN op het net.

Langzame verbinding
De regering maakte de verbinding al verscheidene keren ondraaglijk langzaam, om gebruikers te ontmoedigen ermee te surfen. Ook zette Iran af en toe een slot op onder meer Yahoo! Mail en Gmail. Dat riep echter veel weerstand op, ook binnen het regime. Het slot stoorde de import en export, maar ook studenten en onderzoekers hadden er last van.

Het regime staat nog wel gecontroleerde VPN-verbindingen toe. Onder meer banken, ministeries, staatsbedrijven en luchtvaartmaatschappijen mogen er nog gebruik van maken.

De laatste strijd om het voortbestaan van Israël lijkt steeds dichterbij te komen.

Het Iraanse staatspersbureau Fars, dat wordt gecontroleerd door de Revolutionaire Garde, heeft een officieel commentaar gepubliceerd waarin Alireza Forghani, een strategische expert in het kamp van opperleider Ayatollah Khamenei, zegt dat de islamitische wereld het recht op het bezit op kernwapens moet opeisen zodat Israël kan worden vernietigd en Amerika en Europa kunnen worden verslagen. Eerder dit jaar pleitte Forghani openlijk voor een preventieve Iraanse aanval op de Joodse staat.

Afgelopen zondag schreef Forghani dat 'de fatwa van imam Khomeini verklaarde dat alle islamitische landen islamitisch bloed hebben. Daarom zou de islamitische wereld moeten opstaan en schreeuwen dat een kernbom ons recht is, zodat de dromen van Amerika en Israël worden verstoord.'

'Kernbom is ons recht'

'Het bezit van een kernbom is ons recht. Israël zou al 30 jaar geleden totaal zijn vernietigd, maar bestaat nog vanwege het veronderstelde bezit van kernkoppen,' aldus Forghani.

'De islamitische republiek (Iran) kreeg na de overwinning van de revolutie in 1979 te maken met de harde realiteit dat zijn vijanden de enige ware islamitische republiek ter wereld omver probeerden te werpen. Deze vijanden worden aangevoerd door Amerika, met samenwerking van zijn Europese en sommige Aziatische bondgenoten, en gebruiken voortdurend de VN, de NAVO en andere internationale organisaties voor hun doel de (Iraanse) regering omver te werpen.'

Gebruik kernbom past in islamitisch begrip van 'vrede'

De islamitische wereld heeft overigens al lang kernwapens. Pakistan bezit naar schatting 110 kernbommen die hoofdzakelijk zijn bedoeld om de nucleaire dreiging van aartsvijand India tegen te gaan. 'Daarentegen heeft Iran duidelijk de VS, Europa en Israël op het oog,' gaf Erick Staklebeck van het Amerikaanse CBN als commentaar.

Iran beweert voortdurend dat het enkel een vreedzaam nucleair programma heeft, maar daar zouden in hun eigen ogen ook kernwapens onder kunnen vallen omdat hiermee het door Teheran gehate Zionisme -Israël en zijn bondgenoten in Amerika en Europa- kan worden vernietigd, dat immers wordt gezien als de vijand van de islamitische visie op 'vrede': een wereldwijd Kalifaat waarin enkel plaats is voor moslims en de islam. 'Klaar om kankertumor Israël weg te vagen'

Brigadier-generaal Mohammad Reza Naqdi, commandant van de Iraanse Basij milities, verklaarde tegenover het Libanese TV-station Al Manar dat 'alle volken in de regio klaar staan om deze kankertumor (Israël) weg te vagen. De reactie op iedere agressie (tegen Syrië en/of Iran) zal de bevrijding van Quds (Jeruzalem) zijn.' Syrië, Iran en de islamitische terreurbeweging Hezbollah hebben voor dit doel een gezamenlijk oorlogscommando opgericht.

De theocratische heersers in Iran zijn er op grond van eeuwenoude hadiths van overtuigd dat een Westerse aanval op Syrië en/of Iran en de daarop volgende massale tegenaanval op Israël de komst van de Mahdi, de islamitische messias, zal inluiden.

3 miljoen Israëliërs naar woestijn bij raketaanval
In Israël heeft de Thuisfront commandant van het leger in de regio Tel Aviv, kolonel Adam Zusman, gewaarschuwd dat de circa 2 tot 3 miljoen inwoners van de metropool en aangrenzende plaatsen zullen moeten worden geëvacueerd als er inderdaad een massale raketaanval op Israël komt, vooral als deze raketten onconventionele (chemische, biologische of radioactieve) ladingen bevatten. Deze mensen zullen waarschijnlijk naar de zuidelijke Negev woestijn worden gebracht. (3)

Christenen met enige kennis van de Bijbelse profetieën zullen hierbij ongetwijfeld moeten denken aan Openbaring 12:14. TEHERAN (AFN) - Europa doet de deur voor olie uit Iran pas op zondag dicht, maar de gevolgen van het embargo zijn nu al merkbaar. De olie-export uit Iran is in een halfjaar tijd met 40 procent gedaald en kan nog verder afnemen. Dat blijkt uit cijfers van het Internationaal Energie Agentschap (IEA).

Ondanks de sancties wil Iran de productie van olie niet beperken. Gevolg is dat de opslagtanks zo goed als vol zitten.

Iran is het niet eens met het IEA, dat wordt geleid door oud-minister Maria van der Hoeven. ,,Dat zijn hun cijfers. Onze export is niet erg teruggelopen'', zei olieminister Rostam Qasemi dinsdag.

Atoombom

De Europese Unie besloot om de Iraanse olie vanaf 1 juli te weren wegens het nucleaire programma van het land. Daarnaast mogen verzekeringsmaatschappijen in de EU olietankers van en naar Iran niet langer verzekeren. Iran is volgens Europa een atoombom aan het maken.

Iran is erg afhankelijk van de inkomsten uit olie. Een vijfde van de olie-export is bestemd voor Europa.

Iran to start LNG exports in 2013

Tehran Times reported that Iran will export the first liquefied natural gas consignment in 2013.

Mr Mohsen Khojastemehr deputy oil minister of Iran said that LNG exports will amount to 10 million tonnes per year. Iran will start early production of LNG at the Iran LNG Plant in southern Assalouyeh region within the next 2 years in a bid to give a boost to its LNG output and exports.

Mr Ali Kheirandish MD of Iran LNG Company said that some USD 1.5 billion has been allocated to the project. The project is aimed to produce 10.8 million tonnes of LNG per year. Exporting the product will earn the country up to USD 20 million per day.

Recently, Mr Kheirandish said that Iran plans to export 30% of its LNG output to Europe. China and India will be the two major markets for Iranian LNG in the long run.

Iran starts selling bonds worth USD 410 million to finance South Pars projects

Tehran Times reported that Iran started offering IRR 5 trillion in bonds to finance its South Pars gas field development plans at Mellat Bank branches nationwide for 6 working days. The 4 year paper will offer a tax free 20% yield per annum.

Iran’s Pars Oil and Gas Company will issue IRR 52 trillion in bonds in domestic and foreign currency for the South Pars projects in the current calendar year which ends on March 20th 2013.

Mr Ahmad Qalebani MD of National Iranian Oil Company said that some USD 22 billion will be channeled into the South Pars gas field development projects this year.

Mr Qasemi oil minister of Iran said that the government should increase its budget for the development of joint oilfields. The oil industry's infrastructure needs more than IRR 500 trillion of investment to achieve the objectives of the 20 Year Outlook Plan.

The South Pars gas field is shared by Iran and Qatar. The Iranian share, which is divided into 29 phases has about 14 trillion cubic meters of gas or about eight percent of the total world reserves and more than 18 billion barrels of liquefied natural gas resources.

Iran wants urgent OPEC meeting as prices drop

Mr Rostam Qasemi oil minister of Iran has urged Opec's secretary general to call for an extraordinary meeting amid falling oil prices.

Mr Qasemi said that in 161st meeting of OPEC it was agreed if oil prices fall below USD 100 per barrel it means that prices are in crisis, so we have urged secretary general .to make preparations for holding an emergency meeting.

International crude benchmarks Brent and US oil futures posted their biggest quarterly declines on Friday since the fourth quarter of 2008 due to weak demand, ample supply and economic worries.

However prices rebounded later on Friday on a deal by European leaders to shore up euro zone banks. Brent crude oil futures rose more than USD 6 per barrel to near USD 98 while US crude jumped by more than USD 7 to settle just below USD 85 per barrel.

Mr Qasemi warned that if OPEC members failed to comply with the agreed production ceiling of 30 million barrels per day this would disrupt balance in the oil market. If OPEC members don't observe agreed production ceiling it will be followed by disorder in oil markets.

Mr Hussain al Shahristani deputy PM of Iraq said that OPEC needed to cut its supply, while Venezuela's Energy Minister Mr Rafael Ramirez also called for an extraordinary meeting in the Q3 of this year if global crude prices remain low.

In its last meeting in mid June, OPEC agreed to adhere to the collective limit implying 1.6 million barrels per day cut from the actual supply for 12 members of 31.5 million. To do that, Saudi Arabia would need to cut back sharply.

But Saudi Arabia is showing no sign yet of changing its policy of pumping near its highest rate in decades to support global economic growth, despite a fall in crude prices below USD 90 per barrel for the first time in 18 months.

Oil price up 9pct - Iran sanctions backfire

Press TV reported that oil prices have risen more than 9% on concerns about the potential results of sanctions on Iran’s oil industry and the strong gains in world stock markets on the back of the recent European Union summit.

The oil surge happened when heavy trading led to the fourth largest daily gain on record. Light, sweet crude for August delivery finished 9.4% or USD 7.27 higher at USD 84.96 per barrel which was the biggest 1 day oil rise in percentage terms since March 2009. Oil owed its gains for the day to a wider market rally with the euro and world stocks rising after eurozone leaders agreed to recapitalize regional banks.

Data from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission indicate that throughout the Q2 hedge funds and other speculators had bet big on lower oil prices.

Mr Tim Evans an energy analyst for Citi Futures Perspective said that "We had significant Q2 trends that may all be in the process of reversing including the risk off trade triggered by the EU instability. What has changed is the market sentiment the fundamentals may evolve at a more glacial pace."

Sanctions may stop UAE import of Iran condensate

Gulf News reported that Emirates National Oil Company may have to stop importing condensate from Iran unless Washington grants it an exemption or temporary exception from this week's tightening of US sanctions.

US State Department officials said that financial transactions that facilitate the import of Iranian condensate are liable to a new round of measures effective June 28 that aim to cut Iran's oil revenues and force Tehran to drop its disputed nuclear program.

The fresh sanctions target condensate, produced in association with gas which is Tehran's second biggest source of export revenue after crude and refined products which were targeted in earlier sanctions. But two Gulf based sources close to the company said Enoc had already applied for an exception. The US State Department declined to confirm or deny this.

Industry source said that "I am sure they are petitioning for a temporary exemption and this could apply for 6 months if not a bit longer. Thereafter they need to find an alternative.”

A Dubai industry source said that "Almost everything they put in that refinery is Iranian condensate. They would either have to shut down if they stop or find an alternative.”

Shipping data showed that Dubai accounts for at least half of Iran's condensate exports, which averaged 220,000 barrels per day in the first four months of the year. Most of the condensate comes from Iran's South Pars gas field in the Gulf. Its other buyers include China, Japan and Singapore.

Mr Robin Mills head of consultancy at Dubai-based energy consultancy Manaar said that "If Enoc's condensate acquisition costs were to increase by USD 1 per barrel as a result of sanctions, for example, this would cost them USD 44 million per year. That's not really significant compared to the USD 1.5 billion they have lost on subsidized petrol sales in recent years. Perhaps more significant is that the Iranians were probably giving them easy credit terms on purchases, as with Greece."

Saudi Arabia readies oil line against Hormuz threat

Reuters reported that Saudi Arabia has reopened an old oil pipeline built by Iraq to bypass Gulf shipping lanes; giving Riyadh scope to export more of its crude from Red Sea terminals should Iran try to block the Strait of Hormuz.

Industry sources said that the Iraqi Pipeline in Saudi Arabia, laid across the kingdom in the 1980s after oil tankers were attacked in the Gulf by both sides during the Iran and Iraq war has not carried Iraqi crude since Mr Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait in 1990.

Saudi Arabia confiscated the pipeline in 2001 to compensate for debts owed by Baghdad and has used it to transport gas to power plants in the west of the country in the last few years.

Iran in January threatened to block the Strait of Hormuz in retaliation for US and European sanctions that target its oil revenues in a bid to stop Iran's nuclear program.

A European Union ban on Iran's oil starts on Sunday and Israel has threatened military action against Iranian nuclear facilities if Iranian talks with Western powers fail to stop uranium enrichment.

Several sources with knowledge of the project said that alarmed, Saudi Arabia has now quietly reconditioned IPSA to carry crude, test pumping along the line over the last four to 5 months.

An industry source in Saudi Arabia said that the testing started because Saudi Arabia wanted to secure alternative routes to export oil. Western industry sources said the tests through the 1.65 million barrel per day line had delivered into storage facilities at Mu'ajjiz near Yanbu on the Red Sea for at least 4 months.

More than a third of the world's seaborne oil exports pass through the narrow Strait of Hormuz from the oilfields of Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Qatar's liquefied natural gas exports are all shipped through Hormuz.
