Wow. It’s gotten so bad that Russia’s Defense Ministry has actually acknowledged that some conscripts have been sent into battle in Ukraine. Putin has explicitly promised this wouldn’t happen.

Interessant stuk. Ik pik er twee stukjes uit:

Ik had dit ook niet van Zuid-Afrika verwacht - maar het Westen heeft zelf natuurlijk ook boter op het hoofd door haar relaties met dubieuze regimes. Nu de wereld voor de komende decennia verdeeld lijkt te gaan worden in twee grote machtsblokken, zijn er ook partijen die menen dat een tussenpositie voordeliger is. Als China achter Rusland blijft staan, kan Afrika daar wellicht voordeel uit halen ('Made in Africa').

Russia itself has a massive neo-Nazi problem. Over half of the world’s neo-Nazis are in Russia, numbering some 50,000 to 70,000 strong. German neo-Nazis receive military training in St Petersburg. Neo-Nazis commit violent crimes against minorities in Russia. Russians routinely refer to the darker-skinned people of Central Asia and the Caucasus region, as well as to black Africans, as ‘chernozhopy’, which is an ethnic slur equivalent to the N-word. Racist abuse is rife among Russian sports fans."
