MERCENARIES fighting in a pro-Russian separatist army in Ukraine have complained about being provided with "poor equipment" from Russia, as morale collapses among troops.

Footage has emerged of soldiers from the self-proclaimed pro-Russian Luhansk People's Republic complaining about the poor equipment they have been provided with on the frontline. Nexta, which monitors the conflict, tweeted the video, adding: "Mercenaries of the self-proclaimed 'Luhansk People's Republic' complain about their poor equipment." Vladimir Putin has increasingly relied on mercenary forces amid estimates that 500 Russian troops are killed or wounded every day

In the clip, one soldier tells the camera that he was given ill-fitting shoes while another is forced to wear red trainers.

Another troop shows rotting fabric and material worn and carried by the soldiers.

@Arkady001 tweeted: "Re-issued (dead man's) boots in odd sizes and rotting webbing fabric from years of improper storage. Tell me again how Russia can't lose?"

However, several viewers on the clip remarked the troops were simply "cannon fodder" for Vladimir Putin.

US officials claim Russia’s war effort has "decelerated to a grinding slog".

Two American officials told the New York Times that Russia had suffered around 20,000 deaths in the war so far - including 5,000 mercenaries from the Wagner Group.

Similarly, British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said on Thursday that President Putin is unlikely to succeed in occupying Ukrain

Donbas separatist leader urges cooperation with North Korea - KCNA

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea and the Russian-backed separatist Donetsk region of Ukraine will develop "equally beneficial bilateral cooperation", Donetsk leader Denis Pushilin said in a letter to Kim Jong Un, North Korean state media reported on Wednesday.

In July, North Korea recognised the Donetsk (DPR) and Luhansk People's Republics (LPR) in eastern Ukraine's Donbas region, as independent states.

The move made North Korea only the third country after Russia and Syria to recognise the two breakaway entities.

On August 17, four more ships loaded with agricultural products left the ports of Great Odesa.

This was announced on Twitter by the Ministry of Defense of Turkey, Ukrinform reports.

"Grain shipments from Ukrainian ports continue as planned. As of the morning of August 17, four more vessels carrying sunflower meal, sunflower oil, and corn departed from the Ukrainian ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk," the message reads.

As reported, the seventh convoy of five bulk carriers carrying Ukrainian corn and wheat left on August 16 from two ports of Odesa region. The joint coordination center inspected four ships that were heading for Ukrainian ports.

In Istanbul on July 22, Ukraine, Turkey, and UN Secretary General António Guterres signed the Initiative on the safe transportation of grain and food products from the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk, and Pivdennyi.

Russische troepen hebben de democratisch gekozen burgemeester van een dorp nabij Cherson gekidnapt. Dat schrijft de Volkskrant. Svitlana Korotoen, hoofd van de dorpsgemeenschap Verchni Rohatsjyk, zou niet hebben willen samenwerken met het bezettende leger. Haar precieze locatie is onbekend.

Ukraine war: Thousands of Jews quit Russia amid fears of persecution

Russia is facing the mass migration abroad of large numbers of its Jewish population, with at least one in eight leaving the country since its war with Ukraine began.

The Jewish Agency helps Jews around the world move to Israel. It says an astonishing 20,500 of Russia's estimated total of 165,000 Jews have gone since March.

Thousands more have moved to other countries.

Undoubtedly the spectre of historical Jewish persecution has loomed large in the minds of many of those who are a part of this sudden mass migration and those still trying to get out of Russia.

In Moscow, there had been a huge effort to develop the Jewish community since the fall of Communism. Among those at the forefront was Pinchas Goldschmidt, the city's chief rabbi since 1993.

"We started from scratch with synagogues, schools, kindergartens, social services, teachers, rabbis and community members," he says of the vibrancy that was created.

But just two weeks into the war this year, Rabbi Goldschmidt and his family left Russia, first to Hungary and then to Israel.

He then stepped down from his position and spoke out against the war.

"I felt that I had to do something to show my total disassociation and disagreement with this invasion of Ukraine, but I would have endangered myself if I had done that staying in Moscow."

Newly created Ukrainian Engineering Center to provide foreign weapons maintenance

State-owned defense conglomerate Ukroboronprom created a center for the maintenance and repair of foreign weapons.

This was reported by the press service of the concern.

The newly created organization, the International Engineering Center, will be engaged in the repair of weapons and military equipment of foreign production.

This will allow timely and high-quality servicing of foreign weapons, which are transferred by partners and allies to increase the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the war with the Russian Federation.

It is reported that the specialists of the center will be trained and certified to work with foreign military equipment.

Ukroboronprom stressed that each unit of weapons received from international partners should function and immediately be fixed if disabled.

“The International Engineering Center is designed to restore the combat readiness of foreign-made equipment in the shortest possible time,” the company noted.

Last month, Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said that Ukraine is interested in constructing bases for repairing Western equipment and cartridge works.

Slovakia Delivers First Four Zuzana-2 Self-Propelled Howitzers To Ukraine

The Slovak Ministry of Defense has delivered the first batch of Zuzana-2 155mm self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine. Jaroslav Nad, Slovakia’s defense minister announced the transfer in a post on his social media account, stating: “Slovakia is helping to protect innocent Ukrainian lives! Happy to confirm that the first 4 Zuzana Howitzers are in the hands of Ukrainian armed forces, ready to be deployed in defense against the Russian aggressors”.

Nad further stated that Slovak assistance to Ukraine is as efficient, focused, and ultimately life-saving as possible thanks to their consistent and extensive communication with their Ukrainian counterparts. The defense minister also announced that four more howitzers will soon be sent to Ukraine, stating that Slovakia’s top priority is to save as many lives as possible and aid its allies in Ukraine in stopping this senseless and endless bloodshed.

Oleksiy Reznikov, the defense minister of Ukraine, confirmed the howitzers’ arrival on the same day, noting that they are the 7th NATO-style howitzer currently being used by the Ukrainian Army. The defense minister also stated that the Zuzanas will supplement the howitzers presently being used which include the M777, FH70, CAESAR, M109, Krab, and PzH2000.

It's a sunny day, but there is a little breeze. Due to ongoing explosions, many Russians have likely cancelled holidays & day trips to Crimea.

Als je de hoeveelheid steun voor Oekraïne bekijkt, hoef je eigenlijk geen herovering van het door Rusland bezette deel van Oekraïne te verwachten. De defensiebegroting van Rusland is ongeveer 70 miljard Dollar. Oekraïne is straatarm en zal een defensiebegroting van minder dan 10 miljard Dollar hebben. De financiële steun van het Westen aan Oekraïne bedraagt hooguit enkele tientallen miljarden Dollars. Veel meer als een langdurige loopgravenoorlog zit er dus niet in. Dit is ook precies wat we zien: Weinig beweging in de frontlijn. De economische schade die Nederland heeft is al 40 tot 80 miljard Euro !
( 40 miljard M3 gas per jaar, keer 1 of 2 Euro ) .
Dus Nederland geeft 2 miljard Euro per jaar uit aan het zo lang mogelijk laten duren van de oorlog en laat ondertussen haar eigen economie 60 miljard schade per jaar lijden. Je kunt het beleid eigenlijk alleen uitleggen als je doel vooral is om de Nederlandse burgers te dwingen om van het aardgas af te gaan.
