A right-wing "memesmith" embraced by President Donald Trump is associated with the creator of a video showing a fake Trump shooting and stabbing news organizations and political opponents.

The video, which The New York Times reported was shown at a conference at Trump's Miami resort last week, was made by the YouTube account "TheGeekzTeam," which creates content for a website run by a man who goes by "CarpeDonktum."

CarpeDonktum is a stay-at-home dad from Kansas who has not made his name public, but is perhaps best known for creating the viral edited video of former Vice President Joe Biden's apology for unwanted touching of women, which Trump posted to his Twitter account.

Trump invited CarpeDonktum to his July White House "social media summit," and hosted the meme-maker and his family in the Oval Office for a private "meet and greet" and photo opp.

Hij heeft gisteravond nagedacht. Bij de hearings zijn slecht 12 leden van het Huis aanwezig, de Committee leden.
Dan zijn er 423 leden van het Huis die niet aanwezig waren en geen oordeel kunnen vellen over impeachment.

Ja, dat zijn de regels. De Committee leden doen de hearings. Het zijn regels die lange tijd geleden zijn vastgesteld.
En maar blijven zeggen dat het er niet eerlijk aan toe gaat.

Op 12 Oktober, niet lang na Trump's aankondiging van terugtrekking waarbij hij aan Turkije het groene licht gaf Noord Syrie binnen te trekken.
Vanuit de lucht volgde men haar auto.
Wegpatrouilles werden geïnformeerd dat haar wagen er aan kwam en gestopt moest worden.

Turkse staats media prezen deze "successful operation" om Hevrin Khalaf te "neutraliseren".

Mr Trump Doubles Turkey's Steel Import Tariff to 50%

US President Donald Trump on Monday said he will double the Section 232 tariffs on Turkish steel from 25% to 50% as a result of the country's military actions in Northeast Syria. In a statement posted to Twitter Monday afternoon, Trump said he would soon be issuing an executive order increasing the steel tariffs and authorizing the imposition of sanctions against Turkey. He tweeted “I will soon be issuing an Executive Order authorizing the imposition of sanctions against current and former officials of the Government of Turkey and any persons contributing to Turkey's destabilizing actions in northeast Syria. Likewise, the steel tariffs will be increased hack up to 50 percent, the level prior to reduction in May. The United States will also immediately stop negotiations, being led by the Department of Commerce, with respect to a SI00 billion trade deal with Turkey.”

Trump previously raised Turkey's steel tariff rate from 25% to 50% in August 2018 due to the devaluation of the Turkish lira and increased political tension between the countries due to the detention of US Pastor Brunson. Turkey's tariff rate on steel was later dropped back to 25% in May 2019.

Under Section 232 of the 1962 Trade Expansion Act, the president is able to adjust the tariff level set for any country at any time they see fit.

At the halfway mark of President Donald Trump’s first term, his administration has hired a lobbyist for every 14 political appointments made, welcoming a total of 281 lobbyists on board, a ProPublica and Columbia Journalism Investigations analysis shows.

With a combination of weakened rules and loose enforcement easing the transition to government and back to K Street, Trump’s swamp is anything but drained. The number of lobbyists who have served in government jobs is four times more than the Obama administration had six years into office. And former lobbyists serving Trump are often involved in regulating the industries they worked for.

Even government watchdogs who’ve long monitored the revolving door say that its current scale is a major shift from previous administrations. It’s a “staggering figure,” according to Virginia Canter, ethics chief counsel for the D.C.-based legal nonprofit Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. “It suggests that lobbyists see themselves as more effective in furthering their clients’ special interests from inside the government rather than from outside.”

Gisteren werd Fiona Hill door het Committee gehoord.

Blijkt dat zij zich op geen enkele manier laat intimideren door Trump of medewerkers van het Witte Huis.

Fiona Hill was US Ambassadrice in Oekraine.

Officieel contacten tussen landen, US en Oekraine, lopen via Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken. Dus via de Minister van BuZa, de Ambassadeur en medewerkers van BuZa.

Trump probeerde dit te omzeilen door een direct lijntje van vertrouwelingen : een back channel

De back channel was Rudy Giuliani.
Giuliani moest regelen dat Oekraine de 2020 presidents kandidaat Joe Biden zou besmeuren.
Giuliani moest ook regelen dat 2 Amerikanen in de Raad van Bestuur van een Oekrains gasdistributeur kwamen.
Deze 2 moesten 100 verschepingen per jaar aan LNG van de US naar oekrraine regelen. Hierbij zouden ook flinke bedragen via corruptie verdeeld kunnen worden aan Trump-gezinden.

Fiona Hill had dit door.
Zij zag dat haar rol als ambassadrice werd uitgeschakeld en overgenomen door US Ambassadeur voor de EU, Gordon Sondland. Maakte bezwaren hiertegen en uiteindelijk werd zij ontslagen.

Nu heeft zij gisteren getuigd voor het House Committee en zo te horen heeft ze in de besloten zitting geen blad voor de mond gehouden.
