Mexico Imposes AD Duty on Coated Steel from Vietnam

The Mexican Ministry of Economy's regulatory body for international trade Secretariat of Economy has completed its investigation into anti-dumping duties on coated flat steels exported to Mexico by companies in Vietnam. As a result of the investigation, final AD duties have been determined and will be imposed.

In June 2021, Ternium and Tenigal, requested an investigation into anti-dumping duties on coated flat steels exported to Mexico by Vietnamese companies. In September 2022, the Secretariat of Economy declared provisional countervailing duties on imports of coated flat steel from Vietnam.
The products are covered by HTS codes 7210.30.01, 7210.30.99, 7210.41.01, 7210.41.99, 7210.49.01, 7210.49.02, 7210.49.03, 7210.49.04, 7210.42.99, 17210.49.99, and 17210.49. 7210.70.01, 7210.70.99, 7212.20.01, 7212.20.02, 7212.20.99, 7212.30.01, 7212.30.02, 7212.30.99, 7212.40.03, 7212.40.99, 7225.91.01, 7225.92.01, 7226.99.01 and 7226.99.02 of the General Import and Export Tax Law (TIGIE)
Products coated with metals such as tin, lead, chrome and unalloyed aluminum (aluminized) were not investigated.
Ternium and Tenigal represent 70% of the national production of flat steel products, commercially known as "flat-rolled steel products coated with corrosion resistant metal or painted", "hot hipped galvanized", "certain corrosion -resistant steel products,”, “steel sheet metallic coated and prepainted”, “galvanized sheet” or “galvanneal”. Some trade names in Mexico are Zintro, Zintroalum, Zincalume, Cisalum, Zintrocolor, Zam and Pintrocolor.
