Daar hoef je niet bang voor te zijn.
Zij kennen de criteria die gesteld worden aan de te leveren producten, en passen het productiesysteem toe wat voldoet aan deze criteria.
Zij doen veel aan prototyping, niet veel producten worden geleverd als seriematige eindproducten.

Acquireren van ARCW betekent dat DDD zijn frontoffice verbetert. Acquireren van die anderen betekent dat DDD zijn manufacturing base verstevigt. Arcw kan misschien ook een interessant target zijn voor anderen. Wie?

Ik denk dan bijvoorbeeld aan een investeringsmaatschappij.
Niet interessant voor bijvoorbeeld GE; wie laat zijn prototypes maken door een grote concurrent....
De know-how die ARCW heeft heeft GE ook.

3D printing breakthrough claimed for construction steelwork

Engineers from Arup claim to have come up with a method for 3D printing structural steelwork components.

Arup said that that its team is pushing the boundaries of 3D printing, taking technology firmly into the realm of real-world, hard hat construction.

Using additive manufacturing, popularly called 3D printing, the Arup team has produced a design method for critical structural steel elements for use in complex projects.

They claim that their research also shows that additive manufacturing has the potential to reduce costs, cut waste and slash the carbon footprint of the construction sector.

Arup created a redesign of a steel node for a light weight structure. The complex geometry of this kind of node makes them an ideal showcase of the possibilities of this new technique.

A traditionally produced steel node is still cheaper to produce but this is expected to change imminently. 3D printing becomes more cost effective the more complex the node.

Mr Salome Galjaard team leader said that "By using additive manufacturing we can create lots of complex individually designed pieces far more efficiently. This has tremendous implications for reducing costs and cutting waste. But most importantly, this approach potentially enables a very sophisticated design, without the need to simplify the design in a later stage to lower costs.”

Wal-Mart Could Be Looking For A 3-D Printed Rescue Boat

•Wal-Mart CEO Doug McMillon recently made strong suggestions that his company might be looking at acquiring a 3D printing company.
•If any company could directly benefit from every product and application of 3D Systems, then it would probably be Wal-Mart.
•If Wal-Mart decides to go a more affordable route, they may decide to acquire a smaller company. One possibility is Germany-based Voxeljet, a maker of commercial and industrial 3D printers.
•Two other German 3D printer manufacturers, EOS and EnvisionTEK, are privately held companies with technologies that could meet Wal-Mart's demands.
•Although I like Stratasys and love Arcam AB, I seriously doubt that either of these companies will be on Wal-Mart's radar.

Arcam verkoopt weer in het bijna verwachte ritme
Het is in mijn ogen wel heel bijzonder dat gemiddeld twee printers per maand verkocht worden met een interval van ca. twee weken. Bedrijven die dit soort lage aantallen verkopen hebben vaak langere intervallen en dan weer een paar orders in een kort tijdsbestek. Wat ook opvalt is dat vrijwel niets in Europa verkocht wordt. Zitten we hier te slapen of wat is er aan de hand. Dat zijn zo van die muizenissen.

Arcam heeft weer een Q20 printer verkocht.

De markt lijkt weer gecharmeerd van Arcam na een lange reeks van koersdalingen naar SEK 131.
Als SEK 200 geslecht wordt moeten we er niet van opkijken als de SEK 300 weer binnen bereik komt. Maar wacht u voor een overwaardering want de geschiedenis kan zich herhalen als het fonds weer te duur zou worden om bijvoorbeeld overgenomen te worden. Voor autonome groei zou wel eens een kapitaalsuitbreiding nodig kunnen zijn.
