Gewonde toekan krijgt nieuwe 3D-geprinte snavel

Een Costaricaanse toekan die het bovenste deel van zijn snavel verloor kan binnenkort weer als nieuw door het leven dankzij de 3D-printer. De vogel krijgt een nieuwe kunstsnavel aangemeten.

De vogel, die de naam Greca heeft meegekregen, verloor haar snavel nadat het was mishandeld dor een groep jongeren. De tamme Greca leefde in een dorp, waar het gevoed werd door de locale bevolking. De tamheid was ook de reden dat de vogel zich in eerste instantie niet verweerde tegen de groep jongeren.

Greca herstelt op dit moment in een vogelopvang, waar ze wordt klaargestoomd voor de ingewikkelde operatie aan de snavel. Het geld voor de operatie werd bijeengebracht door een inzamelingsactie in Costa Rica.

In een video op de Costaricaanse nieuwssite La Nacion wordt uit de doeken gedaan hoe de operatie in zijn werk zal gaan en is te zien hoe de 3D-printer de snavel fabriceert. Waarschijnlijk wordt de nieuwe snavel met een of meerdere schroeven bevestigd. De vogel gaat een spannende tijd tegemoet. Het is namelijk nog niet zeker of Greca haar nieuwe snavel accepteert of dat de snavel zich hecht.

Ik hen nog een paar CIMT aandelen, maar die is opgekocht door DDD en de aandelen zijn vervallen. Kan iemand mij adviseren hoe ik mijn geld kan krijgen zonder teveel kosten/ belastingen? Ik hen binck er ook al over gemaild en wacht op antwoord.

Nobahamas,ik zou uit deze grafiek zeker niet durven analyseren dat de markt EBM boven SLM verkiest!
Wat ik eerder wel uit deze grafiek afleid is dat een pure industrie-speler het met overmacht wint van een manusje van alles.
RSW:LN aan deze grafiek toevoegen zal duidelijk maken wat ik bedoel.

De markt is wakker. Niet elk huishouden zal volgend jaar een 3d printer in huis hebben staan om vervangstukken voor hun auto, wasmachine of poppenhuis van dochterlief te printen.
Integendeel; via de niche sectoren zal de technologie langzaam verder in de industrie sijpelen.

According to analysts, 3D Systems Corporation (NYSE:DDD) is expected to report earnings per share for the current fiscal quarter of $0.20. This is the consensus mean estimate based on the individual covering sell-side analysts’ reported numbers. The company last reported earnings for the period ending on 2014-09-30 of $0.13 for the most recent quarter.

3D Systems Co. (NYSE:DDD) issued an update on its FY15 earnings guidance on Thursday morning. The company provided EPS guidance of $0.90-1.10 for the period, compared to the Thomson Reuters consensus EPS estimate of $1.02, Stock Ratings Network reports. The company issued revenue guidance of $850-900 million, compared to the consensus revenue estimate of $872.34 million.

Chinese company builds 3D-printed villa in Shangai

On March 29th 2014, 10 3D printed houses, each measuring 200 square meters, appeared in Shanghai, China. The buildings were created entirely out of concrete using a gigantic 3D printer, and each costs only about USD 4,800.

Now, just 10 months after the initial project, the company behind these 3D printed buildings, Shanghai WinSun Decoration Design Engineering Co, made a new announcement that will take 3D printed buildings to a whole new level - they have built the highest 3D printed building, a five-storey residential house and the world’s first 3D printed villa.

The building measures 1,100 square meter and even comes complete with internal and external decorations.

As early as 2004 and 2005, the company had developed a 3D printing spray nozzle and automatic material feeding system. Then, in 2008, WinSun printed the wall of an actual building.

Mr Ma Yi He CEO of WinSunm said that that the the company’s success is due to their unique and leading techniques. First is their exclusive 3D printing ‘ink,’ which is a mixture of recycled construction waste, glass fiber, steel, cement and special additives.

According to Mr Ma, waste from recycling construction produces a lot of carbon emissions, but with 3D printing, the company has turned that waste into brand new building materials.
