(...) HIV Associated Adipose Redistribution Syndrome (HARS). HIV-associated adipose redistribution syndrome, or HARS, is characterized by fat maldistribution in HIV-infected patients. Patients with HARS experience abnormal, pathological accumulation of adipose tissue in the trunk, primarily in the form of visceral adipose tissue located deep within the abdomen, underneath the abdominal muscle wall. This fat accumulation may be present with or without fat depletion, lipoatrophy, and/or metabolic abnormalities. In general, HARS patients accumulate excess visceral adipose tissue in the abdomen or may develop a fat pad on the upper back commonly known as a “buffalo hump.” This condition is sometimes referred to as HIV Lipodystrophy.

Since the advent of highly active antiretroviral therapy, or HAART, there has been a marked increase in adverse metabolic effects in HIV patients on antiretroviral treatments. These adverse effects include insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia and changes in body fat distribution that include syndromes of both central fat accumulation (visceral adiposity and buffalo hump) and fat loss in the limbs. Recent studies performed in subjects on HAART suggest that at least 20% of individuals develop the morphologic features of this syndrome. With the similarity of HARS to metabolic syndrome X, which has been associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease, it is now feared that these HAART side effects may impact the long-term prognosis in patients whose life expectancies have been significantly extended due to effective viral suppression by HAART. At present, there is no approved treatment for this condition.

We believe that there are at least 80,000 patients who suffer from HARS in the United States.

Mensen is het vandaag of morgen niet, de koers zal de komend maanden zeker flink oplopen. M.i is er maar heel weinig nodig om de koers echt te laten stijgen en dan te denken dat ze in juni beginnen met de verkoop.

...Perfect, al het eventuele negatievisme wordt uit het aandeel weggemomen; er wordt niets aan't toeval overgelaten!!

...Die 111.4 mio is ook al het aantal waar Lazard mee rekende (okay, hij rekende met 110 uitstaande aandelen).

Als ik moet gokken dalen we een vandaag. Het is tenslotte verwatering van 66M naar 86M shares waar de toekomstige omzet over wordt verdeeld en er is op dit moment nog niks verkocht.

Uitgaande van een 100M inkomsten per jaar Iplex (conservatief) en een Biotech verrekeningsfactor van 4x kom ik op 400M/86M = $4,65 zodra geld binnen gaat komen.

Het is dus de vraag hoeveel mensen 2,37 willen betalen voor deze 20M shares.

iPlexTM/ type 1 and type 2 diabetes

IGF 9802 Status: Completed

Design: Phase II double-blind randomized placebo controlled multicenter safety and efficacy

Results: As reported in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism iPlexTM was safe and well tolerated. iPlexTM improved insulin sensitivity and glycemic control. Mean insulin dosage decreased 49%, p<0.01 with drug administration. Mean blood glucose, based on four-times-per-day measurement, decreased 23%, p<0.03. Plasma insulin levels were reduced 47% and mean growth hormone reduced 72%.

SK-DM-11/12 Status: Completed

Design: Phase II, 14-day open label safety and efficacy study in 4 different treatment regimens.

Results: As reported at the ADA's 61st Scientific Sessions and the 83rd Annual Meeting of ENDO.
Mean circulating levels of serum IGF-I reached a maximum on the second day of dosing and were maintained at a steady state throughout the 14 day period in all treatment groups. Each dose and all routes of delivery were well tolerated and produced statistically significant decreases from baseline in insulin doses and fasting blood glucose (FBG).

SK-DM-31 Status: Completed

Design: Phase II double-blind placebo controlled dose range finding safety and efficacy study.

Results: As reported at the ADA's 62nd Scientific Sessions, no serious adverse events (SAE's) were reported in this study. The most pronounced changes were achieved with a 2mg/kg dose. At this dose a significant decrease in average daily insulin requirement from 70.8 units at baseline to 56.5 units (-20.2%) at the end of the treatment period was observed. Fasting blood glucose (FBG) was decreased from 171.5 mg/dL at baseline to 102.2 mg/dL at the end of the treatment period (-40.4%). The study further revealed a dose dependent occurrence of mild-hypoglycemia, which suggests that the subjects on iPlexTM therapy could have further lowered their daily insulin requirements to achieve a desirable FBG concentration.

SK-DM-135 Status: Completed

Design: Double-blind placebo controlled study in adolescent patients with type 1 diabetes.

Results: As reported at the ADA’s 63rd Scientific Sessions the rhIGF-I/IGFBP-3 complex safely restores IGF-I levels, suppresses GH and improves insulin sensitivity in adolescent T1DM in a dose-dependent fashion.

We gaan inderdaad dippen. Het herstel hangt daarna af van het al dan niet succesvol plaatsen van de nieuwe aandelen en tegen welke koers.
Met een 10% discount kom ik op een koers van 2.15
Is dit niet toevallig ook een technisch steunniveau ?!

Het is eigenlijk precies wat Lazard voorspeld heeft. Dus we komen in totaal op 111.000.000 aandelen. En volgens Lazard in december hoort bij dat aantal ook een koers van 4 dollar. Dus dit was vanaf het begin al bekend. We zullen vandaag wel zakken. Maar uiteindelijk zal INSM met dit geld een stuk sterker uit de hoek komen.

Misschien zijn er een paar afspraken gemaakt met IB-ers en wordt alles opgevangen. Maar de onzekerheid is met dit nu in 1 keer uit de lucht. En na dit kan de weg omhoog ingeslagen worden.

Inderdaad. INSM zegt zelf nog een paar jaar verlies te zullen draaien. Met deze emissie haalt men genoeg geld binnen om het tot ver in 2008 uit te kunnen zingen.

Tis gewoon waardeloos..

ze hadden ook kunnen wachten totdat de koers iets herstelde en dan op een veel hogere koers (in ieder geval hoger dan waar ie nu staat) fillen..nu kun je weer op 2.10 met je order staan, want daar gaan we zeker naartoe en als het tegenzit wellicht lager.

En men was hier nog zo zeker van dat er geen emissie meer zou komen ;)

Een echt grote bied staat op 1.97
Toch herstelt de koers na een geslaagde emissie meestal vrij snel bij dit soort bio-fondsen. Het vergroot namelijk de overlevingskansen van het bedrijf.

Tis gewoon waardeloos..

Deze emissie was al lang in de koers opgenomen in februari. Dus dit is niets anders dan dat al eerder gepubliceerd werd. Lazard heeft in december al zijn berekening hier op gemaakt. Dus dit komt juist niet onverwachts. Ik ben het wel met je eens dat ze op de CC zeiden dat ze dit jaar waarschijnlijk het zouden uitzingen. Maar ik ben blij dat ze het nu doen dan zijn we er gelijk vanaf voor de komende jaren.

Nu gaat het erom hoe de koers gaat reageren, ik denk dat we de komende tijd een hogere koers gaan betreden. Zeker nu we weten dat er geen vertragingen zijn opgetreden en er geen emissie dit jaar nodig is. Kortom nu inspringen op deze belachelijk lage koers lijkt me een enorme kans.
