Yas Island developer Miral has announced milestones on Yas Bay, its 130ha waterfront project in Abu Dhabi $3.3bn (AED12bn), where the 18,000-seater Yas Bay Arena – being constructed by Dutch contractor Bam International – is 75% complete; and the 546-key Hilton hotel, plus 37 food and beverage and 19 retail outlets, are each 60% ready, with Yas Bay's public realm and infrastructure scheduled for completion by December 2019.
The Abu Dhabi-headquartered developer has invested $1.1bn (AED4bn) into the Yas Island project, which includes The Waterfront area featuring Yas Bay Arena, in addition to two hotels, a beach club, and a pier.
Yas Bay Arena, the Hilton hotel, and Yas Bay's pier are set to be completed in 2020.
The Residences at Yas Bay has 35 residential plots for low- and mid-rise structures that will accommodate 15,000 people; 19 recreational parks; three mosques; and two schools.
The 29ha Two Four 54 creative hub at Yas Bay is expected to attract more than 10,000 media and entertainment professionals when it is complete.
Commenting on the project's progress, chief executive officer of Miral, Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, said: “With key construction milestones being achieved, we look forward to working with investors and partners from across the world to further develop this unique destination that sets a new benchmark for Yas Island and the UAE.”
