Hi,
I am new and excited to be on here!
Can someone please tell me these things:
a) When to invest
b) How to research and pick great companies
c) And why companies have rises in stock prices.

Hi

There are no rules, guides or advice that guarantee success. The best advice is to experiment with virtual money for a good few months and evolve your own rules.
I have a spreadsheet that tracks nearly 2,000 UK shares and ranks them on their share price performance over set periods. Of course this is not infallible so I sell anything that rises above 12% or below 10%. That's it, you can keep the mountains of irrelevant data and charting theories. Keep it simple.

PS The market does not work on logic, it is ruled by fear and sentiment. You are warned.

How do I sell my stocks on here? I go to make a trade and then sell. But it says I can sell 10,000 pieces of stock. Help!

When selling stock,

If I sell at time "X", but the shares take say 1 hour so are sold at time "Z", does the profit/loss equal that of the shares at time "X" or time "Z"?
