How long do transactions take ? and I have also tried numerous amounts of times to buy various stocks, it shows up on my Transaction history with "wait" and then the next day I find it hasn't gone through why is that ?

Did you buy using "limit" or "best"? If you used limit then the buying price per share you offered may have been too low (There is an automatic system inwhich fails a transaction if the bid is lower than the current price, if I recall correctly).
