can i only invest in the FTSE 100?

Hi,

I am 15 and very interested in the world of stocks and shares.

However on this website, in my portfolio where it says 'buy shares' am i only able to buy stocks off the FTSE 100?

Depends, if you're playing in the VT competition (your portfolio starts with a VT_xxx) then yes you're restricted to the FTSE100.

If you want to try out the other stocks, create a new portfolio (which won't compete in the competition) and you can play there.

Competition or not, it seems you are restricted to the FTSE100 here.

Haven't found a way to trade other stocks . . .

Yes to be fair, I haven't tried trading with a seperate portfolio so was re-iterating something I had read when I joined.

If you try this link, its the VT sites FTSE250 equivalent of the FTSE100.

The page has a buy/sell icon so I'm guessing you can trade - if you're not using the VT_xxx portfolio.
