what's wrong with prices when making orders!?

hey guys, is it just me or is the order system not working properly? if, for example, i want to buy 100 Barclays shares (say price is 290) the whole transaction should be worth 29000, but instead of this, the system shows a hundred times smaller number - 290??? what is this? unless i don't know smthg here and the stock price is listed per 100units or smthg..

i have been caught out with that also. probably best to double check on GOOGLE FINANCE. . I think Im right when saying this game is all about % percentages % not £ signs.

Hi, there isn't anything wrong - except how the information is presented. In the example you've used, the price of the share is in pence (not pounds). So 100 shares at 290 (p) is 29000 pence. You are then presented with the transaction in pounds (so divide by a 100) = £290.

If the share price had a 'p' after it, or was presented as £2.90 it would be a whole lot clearer, but as its not...

Thats the beauty of these fantsy trading games, you learn from them without losing an arm and a leg.
