hi people, just started and had a catastrophic day, at least it looks that way. Is this a fairly normal "blip" or am i just missing something

That's about the size of it. If you look at what you buy and sell (and the results of it) you may learn a thing or two.

You can also look at the top ranking players, the history of what they bought and sold (or sold and bought) is open to all to see. At its simplest, your profit (or loss) is the difference between the two transactions MINUS THE TWO TRANSACTION COSTS. Part of that cost is based on how much you are trading, the other part is a fixed cost (hint).
