Vedior acquires UK marketing recruitment specialist

Vedior is pleased to announce it has acquired a 70% interest in Major Players Ltd (“Major Players” or “the Company”), a leading provider of marketing/media and creative recruitment services in the UK.

Major Players provides temporary and permanent personnel across a broad range of creative disciplines including advertising, marketing, design, digital media, events, PR, research and sponsorship. The Company also provides training services under the Major Training brand.

Zach Miles, Vedior’s Chief Executive, said, “The UK excels in creative disciplines and creative industries account for approximately 8% of UK GDP. With a growth rate twice that of the economy as a whole, they represent one of the country’s most important invisible exports. As a specialist with a strong brand reputation in a sector facing high demand for their services in the UK and overseas, Major Players is well positioned to achieve profitable growth.”

Based in London, Major Players works with clients in major creative hubs in Europe, Australia, USA, Eastern Europe and the Middle East. The Company achieved audited annual sales of £10.0 million (€14.7 million) for the year ended 31 December 2006.

Major Player’s existing management team will continue to develop the Company. The outstanding 30% interest will remain with Major Player’s management.

Vedior neemt 70%-belang in Brits Major Players
AMSTERDAM (FD.nl/Betten) - Vedior neemt een belang van 70% in het Britse Major Players. Dat heeft de onderneming vrijdag middels een persbericht bekendgemaakt. Financiele details zijn daarbij niet gegeven.

Major Players houdt zich onder meer bezig met de recruitment van marketing en mediapersoneel. Het bedrijf behaalde in 2006 een omzet van euro 14,7 mln en is onder meer actief in de Verenigde Staten, het Midden Oosten en Oost Europa.

Een woordvoerder van Vedior wilde desgevraagd niet bekendmaken hoeveel de uitzender voor het belang van 70% heeft betaald. Wel gaf hij aan dat het om een 'kleine' overname gaat. De onderneming heeft een optie op de resterende 30%, die op dit moment nog in handen is van het management van Major Players.
