Instituto De Empresa Contracts The Interoute Video Streaming Services

Madrid, 23 October 2006 - Instituto de Empresa (IE), acknowledged as being one of the leading business schools worldwide, has broadcast on-line its student graduation ceremony, for its Master programmes via the Interoute technology platform. The ceremony, that lasted two hours, was viewed by over 1,300 people on Internet in real time and another 1,700 people were able to watch it in a recorded broadcast.
This is the second time the Instituto de Empresa has broadcast an on-line graduation ceremony for a large number of people. It has previously carried out video streaming of events directed at small, controlled audiences, using its own infra-structure. The on-line broadcast has been made to enable the participation of family and friends of the IE students. Each year the IE receives students from more than 60 countries.
To develop the Project, the Instituto de Empresa installed an ADSL line and a professional video and audio system at the Congress Palace in Madrid, the venue chosen for holding this act. Interoute was in charge of distributing the contents live and in a recorded broadcast, assuring the output regardless of the number of users who were connected at the same time. The signal was coded at 156 Kbps, with a video size of 320x240.
