AMD, Broadcom, Marvell Are in Nvidia’s Wake. This AI Chip Stock Can Take Second Spot.

Nvidia is the king of artificial intelligence chip makers, but the battle for second place is heating up.

Advanced Micro Devices, Broadcom, and Marvell Technology are all fighting for market share, as Big Tech companies continue to plow money into AI.

How the battle shakes out is key for investors. While shares in Broadcom and Marvell have racked up double-digit gains in 2024, AMD stock has slid 13%. It had a rough start to this week, tumbling after a downgrade by Bank of America.

In a research note published Wednesday, Susquehanna Financial Group analysts laid out how they expect the semiconductor makers’ battle to play out between now and the end of the decade. They predicted that the total size of the industry will grow 19% to $335 billion, mainly thanks to aggressive spending by Big Tech players such as Amazon and Microsoft .

A team led by Christopher Rolland forecast that Nvidia’s market share will fall to 77% by the end of 2030, down from an 83.9% estimated market share as of Sept. 30.

Broadcom’s market share will slip from 7% to 6.1%, the analysts predicted—but it will just about remain the number two chip maker. AMD’s will rise from 4.8% to 5.7%, and Marvell’s will jump from 0.6% to 3.7%.

Perhaps the biggest change to the status quo will be the march of outsiders, according to Rolland’s team. They estimated that the share of “all other” chip makers will climb from 3.7% today to 7% by the end of 2030. Working out which names will break the mold could be the best way for investors to play the AI trend.

De dominantie van ASML op de markt voor halfgeleiderlithografie is ongeëvenaard.

De technisch diepgaande presentatie op de Investors Day sprak hierover boekdelen en gaat voor mogelijke concurrenten m.b.t. de ontwikkelingen in AI nog echt wel vele jaren duren, als het al zover gaat komen....

Als ik het zo lees in 2025 nog niet, maar later wellicht. Eerst mogen ASML en collegas nog es vlammen volgend jaar.

Dat Palantir heb ik ook lange tijd naar gekeken, daar zit Peter Thiel achter
de man die Trump ook heeft gesteund.
Lijkt appeltje eitje dat dit bedrijf veel opdrachten zal krijgen.

Denk alleen dat de koers voor de muziek uitloopt.
Nu zijn ze uit zicht. Althans voor een nuchtere Nederlander
een Amerikaan kijkt naar Tesla en denkt nou eer dat Palantir ook zo hoog staat
er kan nog wel wat bij.

Het dag-Gilde begint alweer zenuwtrekje te vertonen en klooien maar wat aan met de dagkoers, echter uiteindelijk gaat het gezonde verstand toch zegenvieren gezien de monopolie postie die ASML heeft met de ontwikkeling van AI die het mogelijk maakt deze ook te produceren......
