INPOST FRESH - A NEW PLATFORM FOR FOOD DELIVERY
The first step in building a nationwide food delivery network
InPost, the leading European e-commerce delivery platform, and
MAKRO Poland, a leading company in the Polish food retailer market,
have started testing food and industrial product delivery following the
launch of the InPost Fresh app.
The foundation of this partnership is MAKRO’s strong position as a top
quality food wholesale provider, and InPost's market leading
technology and delivery proposition. In developing and building the
InPost Fresh App, InPost has drawn on its experience in creating and
managing one of the most popular apps in Poland, InPost Mobile, which
already has nearly 7 million active users. The result of the partnership
is the emergence of a new and strong player in the e-grocery market
with significant opportunities to rapidly expand.
Rafal Brzoska, Founder and CEO of InPost, said: “With our newest
innovation, the InPost Fresh application - a platform for ordering food products
- we are making a pilot start in Warsaw. The trials will last a few months and
then we will expand on our ambition to become the largest nationwide food
marketplace. It is a real revolution. Our partner will benefit from our knowledge
and experience in tech solutions, and at the same time, will benefit from our
last mile logistics capabilities. This, combined with MAKRO's wide product range
of high quality products, will be of great value to our customers. In the future,
it will also provide an opportunity for companies that have traditionally operated
stores with no online presence to shift to an online model I believe our unique
mobile app design know-how and client base will contribute to the popularity of
the newest marketplace in Poland.”Dominik Branny, President of MAKRO Poland, said: “The partnership
between MAKRO and InPost, which is based on our company’s respective strong
market position, is the first step in providing a platform for further expansion.
We offer our customers high quality deliveries of over 10,000 products and have
a leading position in the hotel, restaurants and catering market. We offer a wide
range of fresh products, including fresh fish, seafood, meat, fruits, and
vegetables. Within the app, customers will find their favorite products of well-known brands, as well as products available exclusively at MAKRO.”
In order to complete an order, customers need to download the InPost Fresh
app and follow the intuitive registration instructions.
From the first time customers log in, they are able to start shopping and receive
their first delivery in as little as 60 minutes, thanks to the express delivery
option.
Within the app, customers can choose from an assortment of over 10,000
products for same-day or next-day delivery - including a wide selection of fresh
fish, meat, fruits, and vegetables. Customers can pay using a range of
convenient payment methods including prepayment (Blik, fast transfer and
payment card) or using a payment card and Blik when collecting from a courier.
Initially, deliveries with InPost Fresh will be trialed in Warsaw, in three ways:
Express delivery in up to 60 minutes, delivery on the day of order, and delivery
scheduled for the following days. The key feature of the last two delivery models
is that customers will be able to choose the time of collection for their order.
Purchases will be transported by InPost in accordance with the manufacturer’s
temperature recommendations, so customers can be assured that their products
retain quality and freshness.
Customers are able to track the various stages of their orders in the app and
orders are delivered directly to the customer’s doorstep. About MAKRO
