BAM has won the contract to build the BAM has won the contract to build the 126.16€m Three Snowhill m Three Snowhill

Work on one of the city's largest office developments will start later this year after a main contractor was appointed.

BAM, the construction group behind the Barclaycard Arena and Beorma Quarter redevelopments, will deliver the million Three Snowhill, completing the prestigious office-led estate off Colmore Row.

The project comprises 360,000 sq ft of grade A offices and 40,000 sq ft of leisure and retail space and parking over 16 storeys.

Situated alongside Snow Hill station, it will join neighbours One and Two Snowhill - home to Barclays, KPMG and HS2 among others.

Development group Ballymore led Two Snowhill and is also behind this latest project.

BAM said it would be remodelling the existing five levels of basement and cores which serve all three phases, creating office, leisure and conference space and car parking.

Above ground, it will be a steel framed office tower with curtain walling to all elevations.

BAM has appointed Paul Avery, the man who recently led the million refurbishment of the Barclaycard Arena, as project manager for the scheme.

Ballymore project director Richard Probert said: "Three Snowhill has now been awarded detailed planning consent and we look forward to starting on site shortly.

"It is the final component in what has become a landmark gateway development for our city - changing the skyline and setting new standards for regional office development."

Among the businesses working on the scheme are architecture firms Sidell Gibson and Weedons, structural engineering practice WSP, project surveyor Gleeds and mechanical engineer Arup.

Work is due to start in September and be completed in early 2018.

Dave Ellis, BAM's construction director, added: "This is a signature project for Birmingham and its commercial appeal.

"It is a challenging construction scheme - Snowhill has premium quality clients and it demands a premium quality approach from its construction partners.

"We're very much looking forward to starting on site and making it happen."

The estate forms a key part of the million, 20-year Snow Hill Masterplan which was unveiled in February by Birmingham City Council.

The vision encompasses the area around the station and is expected to see 2.2 million sq ft of office space developed, major changes to local roads and wholesale improvements to Snow Hill station.

Also in the pipeline are a new residential area in Steelhouse Lane and possible pedestrianisation in Colmore Row.

Nu nog even een sluis of 1 à 2
Dat hele GR-gebeuren moet aan Bam voorbij gaan. Het heeft niets met Bam te maken en is al om niets afgestraft de laatste maanden.

The third and final phase of Birmingham’s Snowhill development is expected to start on site in September after developer Ballymore Properties appointed BAM Construction as its preferred contractor.

The final phase of the Snowhill estate is expected to cost £90m.

It forms part of Birmingham’s 20-year master plan for redeveloping Snowhill known as Vision 2030.

BAM will be remodelling the existing five levels of basement and cores which serve all three phases, creating office, leisure and conference space and car parking.

Above ground it will be a steel framed office tower with curtain walling to all elevations with 17 levels of office space and two levels of plant room.

The fully curtain walled 32,000 square metre development is targeting BREEAM Excellent under the 2014 regulations and has an EPC rating of at least B.

BAM has appointed Paul Avery – the man who recently led the major refurbishment of the National Indoor Arena – as project manager for the scheme.

Dave Ellis, BAM’s Construction Director, said: “This is a signature project for Birmingham and its commercial appeal. It is a challenging construction scheme, Snowhill has premium quality clients and it demands a premium quality approach from its construction partners. We’re very much looking forward to starting on site and making it happen.

The concept architects are Sidell Gibson, project architects are Weedons. WSP are the structural engineers. Arup provide MEP and Gleeds are the project surveyors.

BAM is weer sterk vandaag op een rode beurs. Met wat goed nieuws over GL en een PB met een leuke order zitten we zo aan de 4 euro.
