Argent chooses Bam for office designed by Porphyrios AssociatesBam has scooped a contract to build the latest office development at Argent’s King Cross development, understood to be worth more than 63€m.

Three Pancras Square is a 160,000 sq ft office space, with 13,000 sq ft at ground level for shops and restaurants.

The contractor will begin construction later this year, with the building expected to be complete in summer 2016.

Argent partner Nick Searl said: “We are creating an attractive and accessible work place, in a building that does justice to its surroundings.

“Three Pancras Square is the next piece of the Pancras Square puzzle and sits in close proximity to the Regent’s Canal and some of the area’s most striking heritage features.”

The eleven storey building was designed by Porphyrios Associates and will sit at the corner of King’s Boulevard and Goods Way, overlooking Regent’s Canal.

It will contain ten floors of offices, built around on single core, which will contain six lifts, as well as stairs and services. The ground floor will be glass-fronted retail space.

Porphyrios Associates principal, Demetri Porphyrios, said: “One of the most pivotal places to build in the King’s Cross masterplan is the northern tip of the King’s Boulevard.

“This tree-lined street runs from King’s Cross station and St Pancras International, over the Regent’s Canal to Granary Square, home to Central Saint Martins.”

Merk op dat het aandeel de laatste weken veel is gezakt. Ben zelf niet thuis in dit aandeel. Is het volgens jullie een goed moment om te kopen?
Volgens mij wel Gumball4000, maar het blijft u keuze, Gr Euro

BAM to build £24m King’s Cross office block

Grant Prior | Tue 26th August | 12:57

Email

BAM will start work before the end of this year on a new £24m office block in King’s Cross after Camden Council approved the plans.

Three Pancras Square has been designed by Porphyrios Associates and is an eleven storey building containing 160,000 sq ft of office space with shops and restaurants at ground level totaling 13,000 sq ft.

The block will sit at the corner of King’s Boulevard and Goods Way, overlooking the Regent’s Canal, with its main entrance on Pancras Square.

Nick Searl, Partner at developer Argent LLP, said: “We are creating an attractive and accessible work place, in a building that does justice to its surroundings.

“Three Pancras Square is the next piece of the Pancras Square puzzle and sits in close proximity to the Regent’s Canal and some of the area’s most striking heritage features.”

Demetri Porphyrios, Principal of Porphyrios Associates, said: “Our design for Three Pancras Square is inspired by the robust repetition and change that both late 19th century industrial buildings and contemporary office buildings exhibit.

“We also wanted to build in a manner that celebrates precast stone, with its large tectonic scale and the attendant windows of glazed ‘gaps’. All found in the wonderful industrial world of King’s Cross”.

Construction of Three Pancras Square will start later in 2014, with the building expected to be completed in summer 2016.

BAM to build Derby Manufacturing UTC
27 August 2014 - BAM Construct UK Ltd

Derby, 27 August 2014 - Work is due to start on the development of the campus for Derby Manufacturing University Technical College (UTC) following the granting of planning permission by Derby City Council. BAM Construct UK will build the £8 million centre which has been designed by Maber Architects.

The UTC will open in September 2015 for the first intake of students in years 10 and 12 - providing young people with the skills needed in engineering and manufacturing, including the rail industry.

The UTC will have capacity for up to 600 young people aged 14 to 19. They will study core GCSE's, A levels and engineering qualifications enhanced by project based learning, work placements, employer site visits and industry expert lectures.

Derby Manufacturing UTC is a partnership between Derby College, the University of Derby, Rolls-Royce Plc, Bombardier, Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd, Derby City Council and a wide range of supply chain employers working in local manufacturing and engineering.

It is one of 50 new UTCs being developed across the country which are being developed to fill the skills gap in industry by training young engineers who have the talent and skills that employers need now and in the future.

Employers at a wide range of local businesses, including Rolls-Royce plc and Toyota UK, have been heavily involved in setting up Derby Manufacturing UTC and will continue to work alongside the organisation to provide work experience opportunities and projects for the learners.

Work placement opportunities will be core elements of the work programmes where learners will be able to put into practice the skills they have learnt in the classroom into work activity, supported by mentors from local companies.

Derby Manufacturing UTC Principal Designate Philip Morris said: ‘With planning permission agreed, we are looking forward to seeing the building develop. We already have a number of young people who have submitted expressions of interest for joining Derby Manufacturing UTC next September and applications are now being taken and formalised for our first cohort of students in year 10 and year 12.’

BAM has a strong track record of work in the East Midlands. It is carrying out a major redevelopment of East Midlands Airport and won awards for building Derby Council’s new civic office HQ. The contractor is working on the £10.5 million Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology and recently completed the highly sustainable 202-bed Orchard Hotel for the University of Nottingham. BAM is also behind two buildings for sponsor Rolls-Royce, one in Rotherham (the Advance Blade Casting Facility) and one under construction in Birmingham (Rolls-Royce Control and Data Services). It is also behind several other UTCs across the UK.

However ze blijven op de goede weg. Als we weer een droge zachte winter krijgen kan het flink UP.
