By Karen Friar LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Egypt's army chiefs will make a statement at 10.30 a.m. Eastern Time Wednesday, half-an-hour before the military's ultimatum to President Mohammed Morsi runs out, CNBC has reported. On Monday, the military gave the president 48 hours to work with opponents to resolve the political crisis in the country, or it would "intervene". As the deadline nears, armored vehicles have taken position at Egypt's state broadcaster, though it is not clear whether the troops are Morsi's Republican Guards or the army, according to media reports. At least 18 people have died in violent clashes between Morsi's supporters and protesters, after millions took to the streets to demand the president's resignation and fresh elections.
