Taiwan Semiconductor Purchases $150 Million of Equipment From Five Vendors

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., the world’s largest contract chipmaker, bought NT$4.3 billion of equipment from five vendors, according to five separate company statements to the stock exchange today.
The company purchased NT$ 1.28 billion of equipment from Tokyo Electron Ltd., NT$743 million of gear from Hitachi High-Technologies Corp., and NT$740 million from Applied Materials South East Asia Pacific Ltd., the statement said. TSMC also bought NT$557 million of gear from Hermes Microvision Inc. and NT$938 million of facilities and engineering equipment from China Steel Structure Co., the Hsinchu, Taiwan-based company said.
